about
From the Tape Deck sessions 2009
2008-2009 were the first years I really got serious about writing songs, I started a band, Tape Deck, with my friend Tim Blais. After a few weeks of writing music together, we recruited Josh McLane to play drums. Soon it became apparent we needed lyrics, so I stepped up and started writing some. We practiced in the upstairs of an independent video rental store in Memphis called Black Lodge Video. Some of my favorite memories of playing music occurred up there. We recorded some demos and it only made sense for me to include tracks from those sessions on my album.
